Product Summary: NWL's DC Filtering Capacitors are mainly used for smoothing of pulsating DC voltages. They have the ability to handle peak currents and ripple currents while providing a source of DC voltage that remains constant.
Applications: NWL's Filtering Capacitors are found in DC Power Supplies, DC Filters, and Motor Drives.
Specifications: Capacitor Tolerance: NWL provides our standard capacitor with a tolerance of ± 10%. Designs are available with lower tolerances by consulting one of our application engineers.
Ripple Currents: NWL is capable of providing filtering capacitors with ripple currents up to 2500 amperes rms. When ripple currents exceed 40 amps rms, heat dissipation becomes a factor and the customer needs to know the temperature extremes of his application.
Frequency: NWL Capacitors provides filtering capacitors in applications that operate at frequencies up to 1 MHz.
Case Styles: Filtering capacitors are available in Oval and Rectangular Drawn Steel Cans, Welded Steel Cans, Welded Aluminum Cans, Stainless Steel Cans, Welded Brass Cans, and Polypropylene Cases.
Dielectric Types: Filtering capacitors are dry or oil filled and manufactured using a variety of materials such as Kraft, Polypropylene, and Polyester using foil and metalized electrodes. Consult one of our application engineers for the design that best suits your application.
