Snubber Capacitors
FEATURES:
- High power IGBT applications
- High current in a single device
- Voltages to 3kV
- Ripple currents to 150A RMS
- Ripple frequencies to 100kHz
- Inductance less than 15nH
Product Summary: NWL's "R series" snubbers are designed for high power IGBT applications. NWL snubbers allow the user to specify one high current device to replace multiple lower current catalog snubbers.

Custom ratings also available.
Specifications: Capacitance Tolerance: Standard capacitance tolerance is ± 10%. ± 5% available at extra cost.
Ripple Current: Standard ripple current is at 55°C and normal frequency. Ripple current should be de-rated 1.5% from 55°C to 85°C.
Dielectric Strength: 200% of rated DC voltage for 60 seconds.
Series Inductance: Typical inductance is less than 15nH.
Voltages: Standard -1000 and 1200 VDC. "R series" snubbers as low as 600 VDC and as high as 3000 VDC are also available.
Terminal Options: Multiple options with both flat lugs and thru-hole tubes fabricated from solid copper. NWL snubbers will mount directly on IGBT's or buss bars. Standard terminal spacing is 30 mm (1.18"). Custom spacing available from 28 mm (1.10") to 43 mm (1.69").
Construction: Molded flame retardant epoxy cases.
Internal Design: Polypropylene film dielectric with extended aluminum foil electrodes. Internal connections to the external terminals are made with wide solid copper buss bars. This construction permits high peak currents and high rms currents at high frequencies.
