Product Summary: NWL's new E Series DC filter and energy storage capacitors are setting the standard in power electronics by offering superior performance, reduced volumes and dry packaging for many applications.
Using polypropylene film dielectric with segmented metallised electrodes, E Series capacitors have a much higher energy density than previous generation products, thus replacing aluminium electrolytics, and offering a new film capacitor alternative.
E Series DC filter and energy storage capacitors are available in a wide range of standard ratings or they may be customised to fit specific appllications.
Applications: NWL's E Series capacitors offer a new standard product for DC Filter and Pulse Discharge applications in power electronic systems. The E Series allows designers to assume the DC Capacitor will not be the limiting factor for long life, high ripple current, high frequency or voltage surge. The E Series voltage rating is uniquely defined to fit the specific application for which it is required.
As evidenced in the chart on the following page in DC Filter applications, Vn is the normal operating level of a continuous DC voltage applied with maximum ripple current at the ambient temperature of 50 degrees Celsius.
In Pulse Discharge applications, Vp is the peak repetitive voltage based on 10^7th cycles with 20% max reversal at the ambient 40 degrees Celsius.
