Apart from producing measuring systems based on the zero-flux principle for precision current measurement in research Hitec Power Protection has also developed a current transformer for industrial applications based on the same principle. Its main use is for the very accurate measurements of mostly direct currents in high-voltage transmission systems. These measurements are made for the regulation, protection and costing of the energy transmitted.
Peak currents up to 30 kA can be measured with an accuracy of 99.98% at voltages up to 500 kV.
