This modular type may be used in a versatile manner due to its space-saving construction. The modules consist of frames made from an electrically insulating or metallic material. Ceramic gantries are fixed on these frames so as to avoid slippage. These gantries reliably lead the resistor wire through their grooves even when heat is present. For flexible use, it is possible to arrest the electric taps on the resistor windings. Another option is to apply over current relays to monitor the overload case and use thermo switches for the thermal supervision of the resistor device.
