UDIO Bi-directional DC/DC Converters
Pulse Power & Measurement Ltd, Swindon UK has launched the UDIO series of power converters. The UDIO series of power converters, or Up, Down, In, Out converter offer engineers a standard power electronics block that can be programmed to perform a number of different tasks. The UDIO acts like a variable DC transformer allowing you to step up or down in voltage to control current flow between two DC circuits. For example, a variable voltage DC source, such as a supercapacitor bank, can be buffered by a UDIO to provide a constant DC voltage to a load until almost all of the energy has been extracted from the capacitor bank. The ability to optimise systems is greatly increased. With two versions available, 25A and 75A current handling capacity, in compact packages the UDIO is already proving itself in PV, energy storage and fuel cell applications.
